‘Education being ignored in country’ seminar on dengue at Ayesha Degree College, Timber Market,


NO country could achieve the goal of progress and prosperity without promoting education but unfortunately this important factor is being ignored in our country as funds for education sector are being reduced.

According to a statement issued here, this was said by MPA Dr Asad Ashraf while speaking at inauguration of MA classes and seminar on dengue at Ayesha Degree College, Timber Market, Ravi Road, Lahore.

FPCCI Regional Standing Committee on Punjab Traders Coordination Chairman and member of College Council Waqar Ahmad Mian, Professor Zahid Kausar and people from different walks of life were present on the occasion.

Dr Asad Ashraf said that Punjab government was making untiring efforts to promote education in the province. He said anti-dengue campaign was running successfully and situation was far better than the previous year.Waqar Ahmad Mian said that literacy rate was going down due to lack of interest of federal government.

house key: On behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Education MPA Zaeem Hussain Qadri on Monday handed over the key of a house in Aashiana housing scheme to a student, Muhammad Naeem, who stood first in Multan Board matriculation examination by achieving 965 marks.

According to a handout, the key was handed over to the student in a ceremony held at 90-Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam. Punjab Land Development Company Chairman Sheikh Allauddin was also present.

Zaeem Hussain Qadri also announced award of one shop to the father of the student in the housing scheme in view of his financial condition.Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif had announced allotment of a house to the student, Muhammad Naeem, in Aashiana housing scheme during prize distribution ceremony of boy and girl students who achieved distinction in the matriculation examination.

The brilliant student belongs to Hota village of Multan district whose home was swept away in flood. His father is a vendor. They were facing financial problems.Zaeem Hussain Qadri also appreciated the efforts of the headmaster of Hota High School, Multan, Tahir Imdad, for enabling students like Muhammad Naeem to achieve distinction in examination due to his personal attention. He added that such teachers were extremely respectable who were providing invaluable education to their students by giving free additional time to them in school.

govt schools: Punjab Education Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said the government was providing modern educational facilities to children, claiming that 80,000 children have been admitted to government schools from private schools.

Inaugurating a new block, new kindergarten class room, garden and educational scholarship distribution ceremonies at Government High School Chamra Mandi, as per a handout on Monday, he added Rs 4 billion would be spent for necessary facilities in primary and middle schools; whereas, Rs 5.2 million would be spent to upgrade girls middle schools in the province in the current fiscal year.

EDO Education Pervaiz Akhtar, Senior Headmaster Waseem Sohail Butt, Khalifa Abdul Majeed and parents of the students were also present. the news
